Although Efficient Exercise has been around for over 12 years now, I have always been resistant to the overuse of before and after pictures. Yes, I know they can work wonders for marketing attempts and grab attention, but in my opinion, they always scream fake – or at minimum caveat emptor. Just check out the picture below from the documentary Bigger, Stronger, Faster for a “legitimate” before and after photo session that took place on the same day. Photos are separated only by a couple of hours along with better lighting, hair, make-up, shaving, spray tan, and image manipulation – Photoshop can work wonders can’t it?
So instead of going the Photoshop route, I want to choose examples of real people, living real lives, achieving real results. With a little hard work, dedication, consistency, and commitment to proper exercise and nutrition, everyone can achieve marked health improvements in safe, effective, and efficient ways – and those real results can last a lifetime.
First up on our Transformation Tuesday series is Brent. Brent is a busy professional, committed husband, father of two teenagers, and has been able to carve out about an hour a week at Efficient Exercise for over 10 years now and the real results show and pay off. He is stronger, looks better, feels better, and has more energy now in his 40s than he did in his 30s.

I am sick of seeing fake workout results everywhere. It takes hard work and dedication to achieve good results. It’s unfortunate that some are willing to take advantage of people’s vulnerability. Thanks for the great post!
Thank you Paul. There are times I wished we could offer a quick-fix magic pill solution but that’s simply not reality. Exercise must be of sufficient intensity to stimulate change (i.e. it is often not easy) and bad nutrition habits can eradicate most good results.
Same here! Although we both know there is no such pill. Brent has a great story. He is a busy guy yet he has changed his habits and sticks with it. A good example of how small changes + effort = great results every time.
